Honky McHonkerton and his eight children

Buddy: "Please don't take my bone, Mom. Please don't take it. I know you want to, but it's mine and you can't have it. Please don't take it."

Kitty: "I can't be bothered with you humans. I'm far too tired."

More geese babies this year! Lots of them. The other geese couple only has two, but this family has nine babies. Busy, busy. And they're growing up so fast. I managed to get a couple pictures through the back screen door. These are for you, Shan.

And then Daddy saw me. And Mommy. This is the moment before I got honked at, and potentially attacked, had I not closed the screen door quickly. No messing around here.

Fugitive Chicken

I got some great news today - Flash Fiction Online wants my zombie junior high story for their Halloween edition! I'm super excited, and glad she finally found a home, in her un-normal life. Best of all, this means I'm now an Associate SFWA member, or at least will be soon. Baby steps.

Kitty couldn't be bothered with being happy about the news. He was very, very sleepy.

I also read a terrific story on OWW just now - nice and weird, and completely outside the box. Also, the author used the phrase 'fugitive chickens' in it, which made me very happy. Have you ever seen a group of fugitive chickens? Have you? A dangerous thing to behold. This is what Google thinks a fugitive chicken looks like.
