Reading the magazine you're submitting to will save both you and the slush reader time/effort/stamps. Also, reading makes you smarter. And a better writer. Wins all around!








This is a terrific album for writing post-apocalyptic stories, or even just to inspire you in that direction. When I first listened to it, about 40k of a post-apocalyptic YA book churned out, which I will hopefully finish one day. I regularly go back to the album for inspiration.








Following the submission guidelines for a magazine should be a no-brainer. But just in case you're not interested in that, please realize that it is NOT easy to read an entire story in caps and/or bold font. It's a sure thing to getting your story skimmed.
